the Trainer:

9 years ago when I came to Canada I started to train on my own. Since the last 5 years I train with Andrew Urban (photo left). His goal is to train my Body, Mind and Spirit. Also he strength my upper body and makes my bicycle legs stronger. He is born in Poland and his experience ranged from physical education to physiotherapy, including classes for blind and mentally handicapped students.

< Andrew Urban "The Spartan way" and "Harder is better".

He is specialized in the health care of mother and child during therapeutic exercises. He has also dealt with corrected posture and foot problems, worked with physical handicapped and has used massage techniques to deal with sport injuries, illness and stress. In 1987 he came to North America and stayed in California as a fencing coach. Andrew came to Canada and he feels that Muskoka is the best place to live, because of the positive energy that he receives from the peaceful and beautiful landscape here.

This in return allows him to do his work as a personal physical trainer and masseur. He graduated in 1973 with a master degree of Art from the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland.

I started my training with visiting his 'gym' two times a week. Later I got home programs, what saved me travel time, so that I could train more.

On regular base I trained under his supervised eyes. He discovered my weaknesses and started to train my weak muscles. My upper body was getting a shape now. Training's are hard, but effectual. Bike races were going better, I felt stronger and my recovering times were shorter. Even with kayaking I felt that I was getting stronger and stronger.

On the moment I train my strength with programs at home and with him. Also he makes daily, weekly or 12 day training schedules for me, to prepare me as good and as much as possible for my races. training includes, strength, endurance, sleep deprivation and relaxation, nutrition and recovery.
